Health & Wellbeing in the Workplace

We all know how important it is to look after our health if we are to be able to function effectively at work. Recognising our limitations, strengths and weaknesses is essential and knowing how to cope when life gets tough is vital. The growing concern with good work-life balance has made us aware of the relationship between our jobs, and our mental and physical well-being. Our physical health and our psychological health impact significantly on each so an holistic approach to health & well-being is recommended.

As managers and/or employers we have a legal responsibility to help our employees achieve this too, so are you doing enough to fulfill your responsibilities?

Suicide and Men

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 yrs, with those in their 40’s most at risk. A hundred men die a week. It is more prevalent than at any time in the last 14 years and men are four times more likely to end their own lives than women. So why is that? Kinesiology Tape – Miracle Tape or Not?

Kinesiology Tape is a therapeutic tape used for musculoskeletal injuries and sports injuries as well as inflammatory conditions. It is widely used amongst top international athletes for a variety of reasons and interestingly has been banned from competitive swimming as it is thought to enhance performance.

It’s uses vary including pain relief, reducing swelling, bruising and inflammation, prevention of spasms and cramping, faster recovery of muscles, for structural support of weak areas, enhances strength and muscle tone and of course it allows people to continue to train even when injured.
