Our robust standards

To maintain the quality of our service we have robust standards in place, which every therapist working out of The Therapy Company must meet. Each therapist:

Is assessed for his/her professional skills.

  • Must have relevant and up-to-date qualifications
  • Must be a member of an associated body for their specific area of expertise.
  • Must have the appropriate insurance.

Dr Natalie Miles

Dr Natalie Miles is a qualified psychotherapist, fully accredited with BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists), and BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy). As Clinical Lead within The Therapy Company and with over 25 years in the healthcare industry, Dr Miles initially trained as a chiropodist.

In the mid 1990s she trained in Counselling, went on to complete her MA in Counselling, and then commenced study in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. In 2005, she achieved her BSc in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at Lancaster University and in 2012, completed her Doctorate in Counselling at Manchester University.

She has experience with a wide range of mental health problems, and in addition to treating with people with anxiety and depression. She has additional skills and experience in working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Eating Disorder, Mood Disorder, Phobias and Behavioural Disorders, such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). As a trained Clinical Supervisor she provides formal clinical supervision to students and qualified therapists.


Diane Ogden

Diane Ogden is both Service Manager and Therapist. A qualified nurse, she trained as a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) in the mid 1980s and worked in acute mental health services in the NHS for several years.

Over the years she has worked in a wide variety of services, including a specialist therapeutic community, sexual abuse/assault service, as clinician and manager in both substance misuse services and a local private hospital.

In 2010 she qualified in Eye Movement, Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) and became accredited with EMDR UK & Europe in 2013 and works with clients experiencing trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Diane manages the service to ensure a high standard of care is delivered.


Garry Miles

Garry Miles is qualified Counsellor and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. Having trained later in life, Garry found his passion for therapy whilst working for voluntary organisations with homeless and substance misuse clients. Garry currently works part-time with a local NHS Occupational Health Department and so brings with him additional experience of complex workplace difficulties.


Team of Psychotherapists/Counsellors
We are supported by a team of therapists made up of several cognitive behaviour therapists, counsellors and EMDR practitioners working across our different locations at different times in order to meet the varying needs of our clients. We aim to be a flexible as possible in providing clients with suitable appointments, however as not all our therapists are registered with insurance companies, we can sometimes only offer appointments in these cases at particular times and days.

Grant Smith Physiotherapy

Our team of chartered physiotherapists combine excellent clinical skills and the level of personal care that you would expect at a long established and respected practice. They have experience in many clinical fields, and are able to treat a wide variety of conditions, using the best of traditional and up to date treatment methods.

Whether your needs are short term (advice, second opinion) or long term (chronic conditions), we are here to help.
We are also able to offer work station assessments, as well as a bespoke service for sports clubs and organisations.

Judith Kilgallon

Judith Kilgallon is a qualified Bowen practitioner (Cert ECBS, MBTPA). Judith discovered Bowen Technique, several years ago when she received the treatment herself and since that time has not looked back. She now enjoys seeing others gain the positive benefits she gained from the treatment. Gaining in popularity due to its achievements, Bowen is quickly developing as a valuable therapeutic intervention.

Ian Fowler

Ian is a Member of both the British Chiropody Association and School Of Surgical Chiropodists from where he qualified in 1992. Ian is also a member of the Health Professionals Council, who regulate the Chiropody and Podiatry profession.

Ian trained as a Chiropodist/Podiatrist whilst serving in the Royal Navy having joined when he left school at 15 and serving for 26 years He qualified shortly after leaving the service and worked locally as a chiropodist until 1996 when he decided to have a break and experience other life challenges. After a few years break, Ian decided that his heart belongs to the health care field, in particular Chiropody/Podiatry and he now works alongside other practitioners in The Therapy Company. Ian is based at our St Anne’s clinic.


Andy Ogilvie

Andy joined The Therapy Company as a self-employed Associate Massage Therapist in August 2017 having worked previously, in the same capacity, at the Grant Smith Physio Therapy Centre for nine years. A member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), Andy is listed as a Body Massage Therapist on the FHT register. This register has been approved by the Professional Standards Authority, under its Accredited Registers programme.

In 2005, following early retirement from his successful business career, Andy pursued his life-long interest in Sports Therapy and so trained at Blackpool & The Fylde College. He gained a VCTC Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage, and a second in Holistic Therapies. Both qualifications include the practice of Deep Tissue, Sports, Remedial, Swedish, Relaxation and Indian Head massage, amongst others.

Andy’s training, experience and knowledge of sport combined with his understanding of the physiological and psychological benefits of therapeutic massage help him to provide really effective treatments.
So if you’re looking for massage therapy to help deal with the many aches, pains, stresses, strains and fatigue that come with a busy, modern lifestyle, then you need to see Andy.

Patricia Wann

Patricia describes herself as a truly holistic complementary health professional having trained in various different therapies.  She is a qualified Homeopath (BSc (Hons) Homeopathic Medicine), although she initially qualified as RGN, some 30 years ago, she has worked in the UK and Australia. Over the years, she developed her skills and gained her Diploma in Occupational Health, then spent 17 years working for ICI addressing work-related difficulties before finding her interest and passion for Homeopathy, including Bach and Bush Flower remedies.
Pat works at our St Anne’s clinic.


Russell Hoyles

Russell has worked in the mental health field for 32 years and practised within both social care and the NHS as a Mental Health Practitioner. For the last 6 years he has offered his expertise and his experience in his private practice. Registered with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and with advanced qualifications as a Mental Health Practitioner, Russell offers Clinical Hypnotherapy in addition to Life Coaching and Counselling. His unique programmes of therapy provide individually tailored sessions to assist his clients address their issues and make positive changes. Russell specialises in weight management, anxiety, stress, lifestyle issues and in sports performance. Russell works at our St Anne’s clinic.

Robert Goodman Edwards

Robert Goodman Edwards graduated from the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in 1998 with his honours degree in Osteopathy. He views Osteopathy as the gentle alternative that really works for the relief of pain and the re–establishing of normal function. Osteopathy treats the problem, not just the symptoms, and he prides himself that his treatments are not painful.

Rob works out of our St Anne’s clinic and provides osteopathic treatments for a wide range of conditions that affect the muscles, bones and joints in order to help his patients to understand and manage their condition. Rob is also a trained in the Perrin technique.
